Welcome To Scoil Réalt Na Mara
It gives me great pleasure to welcome you to Scoil Réalt na Mara N.S. website which I hope will give you an insight into the school spirit and culture. We are a co-educational Catholic school under the patronage of Bishop William Crean. This small and vibrant school is embedded in the community and we pride ourselves in the welcoming atmosphere.
Our coastal setting lends to hands on investigative learning in our natural environmental surroundings and the children go on annual field trips to the beach or cliff walk. We believe every child is unique. We strive to meet each child's individual needs and give them every opportunity to shine. I feel privileged to work with such highly professional, dedicated and innovative staff. Their commitment and drive will be evident as you browse through the website.
We are greatly supported by a proactive Board of Management and an enthusiastic and motivated Parents Council who together help us achieve our goals.
This website will give you a sense of the vibrancy within our community where a myriad of activities take place enabling the growth and development of well rounded children.
My sincere thanks to all involved.
Through teamwork, respect, caring concern and inclusion of each person we in Scoil Réalt Na Mara N.S learn, discover and grow
Working happily together, we achieve our goals.
Meet The Staff
Eilís Casey our Principal teaches Junior and Senior Infants and our Deputy Principal Eileen Finn teaches Fifth and Sixth Class. Ciara O'Flaherty is teaching Third and Fourth Class and Suzanne Irwin is teaching First and Second Class.
We have two replacement teachers this year 2019-2020. Brian Daly is teaching Fifth and Sixth Class and Christine Farrell is teaching Third and Fourth Class.
We had a full teacher rotation for the first time in the history of the school in 2017 and we embrace change, challenge and continuous professional development to enhance our teaching and the learning experience of all the children in our school.
Our Special Educational Team includes Sandra O'Connor and Claire Heffernan. They work closely with class teachers, inform and guide us in their area and support us in meeting the needs of the children in our care. They engage in assessment on a regular basis throughout the year to ensure informed teaching and meaningful learning. We are extremely fortunate to be able to facilitate team teaching throughout the school with a focus on early intervention.
We have four mainstream teachers and two teachers on our Special Educational Team.
A full time SNA, Mary and a part time secretary, Teresa.
