Classes

We have four mainstream multi-grade classes covering the DES curriculum in Gaeilge, English, Maths, History, Geography, Science, Art, Music, Physical Education, Drama and Social, Personal Health Education. School starts at 9:15 am daily and children can be dropped at the school grounds from 9 am. The Junior and Senior Infant day ends at 2pm and all other classes finish at 3pm.

All classes assemble on a monthly basis to celebrate and share what they have learned and enjoyed in class.

Assemblies have a designated theme. We invite Grandparents to share in our school life annually where we learn from their life's experiences and the children take great pride in spending that time with them in the school setting. Attendance is commended and children with full attendance are acknowledged and awarded a certificate at the end of each term.
All classes go on school tours and local fieldtrips during the school year. Fifth and sixth class avail of the invaluable opportunity in Ballymaloe to cook a delectable lunch which they later devour! They also learn about planting fruit, vegetables and herbs.
We participate in Maths Week, Science Week, Engineering Week and Seachtain na Gaeilge where we endeavor to enhance the children's experiences in these subject areas and give greater insight into their relevance in today's world.
We host an annual concert at the end of the first term and celebrate World Book Day in March. A photographer takes class, individual and family photos and a book fair is held biannually.
School life is vibrant, busy and full of variety in Scoil Réalt Na Mara.
