Gymnastics Making the most of the good weather and doing our Gymnastics outdoors.
Drama The children in groups had to write their own court room drama. This was based on the villains side of the story from well-known fairy tales. What they came up with was hilarious!
Outdoor Adventure Today we began our 'Outdoor Adventure' Strand for PE. The children had to untangle themselves, get hula hoops around the circle and follow directions on a map.
Movement Breaks It's so important for the children to get out of their seats and be active throughout the school day. Here are 3rd and 4th Class participating in Go Noodle!
Time Travellers! After learning about life during The Stone Age we decided to see what it would be like to live during this time. Firstly a few children hid cards in the yard labelled with various berries and foods that Stone Age people would have eaten. In groups the children had to go out and gather as much food as possible for their families (while watching out for poisonous berries!) Stone Age people also relied heavily on hunting for their food, clothes and homes, so the children had to design and make their own Stone Age weapons. Everyone did an amazing job! Using the weapons the children had to try to hit animal targets. Although they had loads of fun I think they all agreed it's much easier to head to the local shop when you're hungry!
Aeroplanes After learning about how aeroplanes fly it was time to test out our knowledge and make our own. The children love making paper aeroplanes!
Floating and Sinking After learning about floating and sinking the children were given the task of making a boat out of clay and getting it to float. The task proved very difficult and got quite messy! One group was successful though!
The Water Cycle Check out our 'Water Cycle in a Bag'. The children were learning about the steps in the water cycle and so we decided to make our own! (Some dance skills in the background!)
