Last Wednesday three of
our pupils, Alan Draddy, Daniel O'Sullivan and Patrick McNamara went to see
an astronaut in the Cork School of Music for a Q and A session. The astronaut's
name was Dan Tani. He talked to them about what it was like to go up into space.
There were about fifty-two schools there. Before we asked the first lot of questions
he showed us a movie of his time up in the International Space Station. They
all got to ask one question per school. Our question was " How much does
it cost to send a space shuttle to space?"
After the first half of questions he showed us a slide show about his time in the International Space Station. He said that the thing that he most enjoyed was the Aurora Borealis (The Northern Lights).
Before the second half of questions he showed us a slide show of some of the pictures he took and a man called Kevin Nolan played the keyboard during the slide show. After the second lot of questions we finished up with a picture of us with Dan Tani. Daniel asked for an autograph because Greta, Daniel's mother, asked him to get one.
