Scoil Réalt na Mara, Ballycotton, is a mixed primary school under the patronage of the Catholic Bishop of Cloyne. At present there are 4 class teachers in the school. The school also has a full time Resource Teacher and a full time Learning Support Teacher. The original school was built in 1910 and underwent a major refurbishment and extension in 1998/99. Ballycotton Montessori School is in the adjoining Community Hall. The school has the use of the Community Hall for games. It has a tarmac ball court for outdoor games.
