Welcome To Scoil Réalt Na Mara

photo_edited.jpg

It gives me great pleasure to welcome you to Scoil Réalt na Mara N.S. website which I hope will give you an insight into the school spirit and culture. We are a co-educational Catholic school under the patronage of Bishop William Crean. This small and vibrant school is embedded in the community and we pride ourselves in the welcoming atmosphere.

Our coastal setting lends to hands on investigative learning in our natural environmental surroundings and the children go on annual field trips to the beach or cliff walk. We believe every child is unique. We strive to meet each child's individual needs and give them every opportunity to shine. I feel privileged to work with such highly professional, dedicated and innovative staff. Their commitment and drive will be evident as you browse through the website.

We are greatly supported by a proactive Board of Management and an enthusiastic and motivated Parents Council who together help us achieve our goals.

This website will give you a sense of the vibrancy within our community where a myriad of activities take place enabling the growth and development of well rounded children.

My sincere thanks to all involved.

Eilís Casey
Principal

Our Special Educational Team includes Sandra O'Connor and Suzanne Irwin. They work closely with class teachers, inform and guide us in their area and support us in meeting the needs of the children in our care. They engage in assessment on a regular basis throughout the year to ensure informed teaching and meaningful learning. We are extremely fortunate to be able to facilitate team teaching throughout the school with a focus on early intervention.

We have four mainstream teachers and two teachers on our Special Educational Team.

A full time SNA, Mary, a part-time SNA Daivina and a part time secretary, Teresa.
